Position Overview Under general direction, functions as a designated lead worker for a team of casework staff; serves as functional resource person for team casework staff; conducts periodical determinations of eligibility; identifies training needs and conducts on-the-job training for assigned staff.

Essential Functions

Serves as functional resource person for team casework staff; answers questions, explains official policies, program rules, and procedures for team staff; instructs and assists in handling difficult and complex cases; hears and investigates clients complaints; reviews initial responses and recommends Department’s position to client appeals.

Serves as a designated lead worker for a team of casework staff; assigns and reviews work; provides guidance and training to assigned staff; advises immediate supervisor regarding performance of staff.

Conducts periodical determinations of eligibility; updates the system with changes to clients information.

Identifies training needs and conducts on-the-job training for assigned staff; recommends formal training courses for team members; gathers, organizes, distributes, and explains operational and administrative policies and procedural materials and information for staff.

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years college with emphasis on the behavioral sciences and two (2) years suitable professional casework experience in a social service agency; or one (1) year of agency casework experience; or any combination of equivalent training and experience.

Work Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5pm, 1-hour unpaid lunch.
