Supv, Asst Clinical Manager CH - Emergency Services - Full Time
Pay range: $40.25 – $62.59 per hour.
Responsibilities
Resource Utilization:
Considers safety, effectiveness, cost, and impact on practice in nursing service planning. Utilizes staffing principles, manages daily staffing with Charge Nurse / Nurse Manager, adjusts schedules based on patient census or acuity, and monitors budget performance. Assists in program development, implementation, and modification to meet patient care and staff development needs. Manages department payroll activities.
Leadership:
Applies leadership principles to anticipate and influence change. Sets priorities, manages time, identifies opportunities, and collaborates with clinical managers, supervisors, and staff. Resolves conflicts creatively and promotes multidisciplinary care. Serves on Clinical Manager’s behalf in their absence, attending meetings and making necessary decisions.
Quality of Practice:
Establishes clear clinical expectations based on professional standards. Oversees daily operations with Clinical Manager, Medical Director, and staff, developing and modifying patient care standards. Addresses customer requests, complaints, and service recovery promptly. Leads improvement activities and fosters a supportive environment.
Collaboration:
Assigns work and directs team members, creating systems for joint care planning. Holds regular meetings with direct reports, communicates via multiple methods, and collaborates with physicians and departments to enhance patient care and customer service.
Compliance:
Implements policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines (state, federal, accreditation). Maintains confidentiality, coordinates competencies, educational programs, orientation, and skills labs. Shares advances in nursing practice and technology with staff.
Education/Professional Practice Evaluation:
Continually expands knowledge and competency. Evaluates personal practice against standards, statutes, and regulations. Models lifelong learning.
Ethics:
Integrates ethical principles into all practice areas.
Research, Advocacy, and Human Resource Stewardship:
Assists with program development, advocates for patients and staff rights, promotes diversity and inclusion, and guides staff to meet objectives. Conducts performance evaluations, resolves conflicts, and supports hiring and disciplinary actions.
Other Duties:
Performs additional related duties as required.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited/approved nursing school.
Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) unit dependent.
Two years of recent clinical leadership or charge nurse experience desired.

Desire to pursue management and leadership training within the organization.
Ability to perform clinical duties related to professional specialty.
