Perform on highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility's equipment
Perform on emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and PMs
Perform mechanic duties and responsibilities as needed.
Perform as needed mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
Perform electrical skills including, but not limited to, basic electrical troubleshooting
uploading PLC programs, saving PLC programs, changing PLC programs as needed, programming VFD’s, programming drives, running conduit and power to new equipment, replacing electrical hardware
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service
Read and interpret electrical schematics and PLC programs
The ability to identify the need for external support, be able to communicate with OEM technicians over the phone to support troubleshooting and/or repairs needed.
Diagnose mechanical (as needed) and electrical problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
Be proficient in operation and use of a multi-meter.
Use a variety of hand and power tools and material handling equipment in performing duties
Being proactive with reporting any unusual situations to proper supervision
Be able to lead by example and help junior electricians as needed
Perform all other duties as needed or assigned
Fluent in English
Bilingual in Spanish a plus
5 + years manufacturing experience preferably in a paper converting/corrugated environment
Knowledge of basic tools, power tools, electrical meters, pneumatic blue print reading, hydraulic blue print reading, and electrical schematic reading
Knowledge in the following programs: Lenz Global, RS logic 5,500 and 5,000, Workshop 505, Siemens Step 7, B&R Automation Studio
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Good interpersonal skills
Highly organized, detail orientated and self-motivated individual (proactive attitude)
Lean Management
Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting as needed
Ability to perform basic electrical troubleshooting
Ability to deal with various situations in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role. It requires the ability to: stand occasionally, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently. The role requires occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will encounter noise level typical of that of an office with computers, phones, printers, and light traffic. May encounter frequent interruptions throughout the day. May be required to work in a confined area and sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
