Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled RF Design Engineer with deep expertise in Atoll, RFDS, CQ, and team leadership. Candidates with prior Verizon experience are strongly preferred due to their familiarity with Verizon design standards, tools, and delivery expectations. This role will be based out of our Allen, TX office.
The ideal candidate is a strong technical performer who can also manage and mentor a design team while ensuring consistent, high-quality deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed RF Design for LTE/5G macro and small cell networks using Atoll.
Create and review
RFDS , CQ files, plumbing diagrams, power/feeder details, and associated design documentation.
Conduct link budget analysis, propagation modeling, PCI/RSI planning, RET/tilt settings, and parameter planning.
Review site surveys, structural reports, and design constraints to produce accurate design outputs.
Work closely with RF, Integration, Transport, and Construction teams to support end-to-end site delivery.
Manage a team of RF designers—allocate work, review outputs, maintain quality standards, and mentor junior engineers.
Interface with Verizon teams for approvals, feedback resolution, and adherence to VzW design standards.
Support design audits, re-designs, CQ cleanup, and design updates during integration/optimization phases.
Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all RF design packages.
Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands‑on experience with Atoll (mandatory).
Expertise in preparing and reviewing
RFDS
and
CQ
deliverables.
Solid understanding of LTE/5G RF design principles, KPIs, parameters, and deployment standards.
Experience managing or mentoring a team of RF engineers.
Preferably ex‑Verizon (direct or vendor) with knowledge of Verizon tools, templates, and processes.
Proficiency with propagation models, drive‑test data interpretation, neighbor planning, and design tuning.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with major OEMs (Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung).
Familiarity with GIS tools, data analytics, scripting (Python), or automation workflows is a plus.
Prior experience supporting large‑scale markets for U.S. carriers.
