Operating Engineer-Cogeneration , you are the guardian of that foundation. You don’t just work in a utility plant; you manage the heart of the campus. This role is essential to our success—without your expertise, groundbreaking research halts, classrooms go dark, and the residential community loses its comfort. You provide the 13,800V pulse that keeps the Bulldog spirit alive and ensures our students can thrive in a safe, supportive, and uninterrupted environment. This isn't your standard maintenance job; it is a high-level technical command position. You will be at the helm of a sophisticated Combined Heat and Power (CHP) facility, utilizing advanced computer-based distributed control systems (DCS) to manage massive gas and steam turbines. This is a rare opportunity to operate a micro-grid environment where you are responsible for the generation and distribution of power on a massive scale. Two years of experience in the operation or maintenance of a high-voltage power generation facility; OR Three years of experience in the operation or maintenance of chemical, pulp, and paper, or oil or gas processing facilities; OR Four years of experience or training in the operation or maintenance of large stationary engines or mechanical equipment. Operate and maintain gas turbine generator. Operate and maintain power and heat recovery boilers. Operate and monitor electrical power distribution system. Perform water chemical analysis and adjust chemical treatment systems. Operate and monitor building management computer system. Call out appropriate personnel for after hours work orders. Work Schedule:

The typical work schedule for this position is 12 hour days and night shifts. May be required to work some overtime, weekends, or holidays.
