Summary/Objective The Manufacturing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a manufacturing department, ensuring that operations meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. The role requires leading a culture where every member feels valued, motivated, and aligned towards shared goals, driving collective success and growth. The successful candidate will exemplify core values, demonstrate emotional regulation, and effectively manage cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious production goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Operational Excellence:
Ensure all manufacturing processes meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. Actively manage safety programs to integrate safety measures into daily operations and maintain compliance with regulatory requirements with a continuous improvement mindset.
Leadership & Development:
Lead, motivate, retain and develop a diverse team by fostering trust and collaboration. Implement training programs and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance capabilities and performance. Provide coaching and development, make employment decisions, and resolve issues through effective problem resolution.
Performance Management:
Monitor and review performance metrics, lead effective team meetings, use visual management to drive decisions, manage department performance measures, and provide regular progress reports. Determine root causes and implement corrective action plans.
Strategic Operations:
Work with the General Manager and senior leaders to align manufacturing strategies with company objectives. Use problem-solving tools to address operational challenges and improve outcomes.
Community and Stakeholder Engagement:
Participate in community service projects and maintain proactive communication with stakeholders to optimize material usage and improvements.
Working Conditions
Exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration; loud environments.
Indoor office environments at times.
May stand/walk for several hours; exposure to computer screens.
Qualifications
High school degree or GED.
3-5 years of industry experience in a manufacturing environment.
Essential Functions
Ensure effective team member relations and build trusting relationships.
Balance quality, productivity, cost, labor, safety and morale to achieve positive results.
Provide leadership through recruiting, interviewing, ongoing discussions, reviews, and disciplinary conversations.
Assist with accident investigations as needed.
Maintain proper inventory levels if applicable within the business unit.
Manage department priorities including production scheduling and lean projects.
Track absenteeism and timekeeping; review and correct time punch errors for payroll.
Report machine or system issues to maintenance.
Participate in manufacturing activities when needed and engage in team building.
Work closely with internal and external customers.

Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to perform the essential functions. The team member may need to lift up to 50 pounds and may be required to wear PPE provided by the company.
Position Type/Hours This is a full-time salary-exempt position. Hours vary with workload; occasional evenings and weekends may be required.
Travel Minimal travel, primarily local.
Preferred Education and Experience
3-5 years of experience in a production environment.
Associates degree preferred at minimum.
Management/Leadership experience.
Lean proficiency.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office including D365.
Work Authorization Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
