Responsibilities
Maintains recommended standards for set assembly, decontamination, inspection, containerizing, and sterilizing surgical instruments in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs sterilization, assembly and storage of medical supplies and equipment.
Leads day‑to‑day operational workflow, including staffing, monitoring performance, staff education, and inventory control.
Manages sterile processing information database and implements Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement initiatives for the department.
Acts as liaison between customers, technical staff, medical staff, and other departments within the hospital.
Qualifications
Education:
H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – required.
Work Experience:
1 year in Central Service Processing, Operating Room Procedural Support Technician, or Surgical Tech – required. 2 years preferred.
Licenses & Certifications:
None required.
Additional Certifications:
Central Service Processing Technician Certification, Certified Operating Room Technician Certification or Surgical Tech Certification – required.
