1st Shift Position, 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday through Friday
Position Overview The Design Engineer is responsible for researching, analyzing, and designing parts, processes, and systems to develop new and/or improve core processes using 3D solid modeling and 2D CAD software.
Essential Job Functions
Design and/or improve products and components with an understanding of design tools and methods.
Research existing and alternative systems to develop and improve designs.
Analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, and related data to assess factors affecting designs and procedures.
Coordinate and consult with others to design, lay out, or detail components and systems.
Create AutoCAD drawings of HVAC, facility, and process diagrams.
Model parts and create assemblies in 3D using SolidWorks and convert to 2D AutoCAD drawings.
Use common drawing detailing methods to ensure correct and accurate fabrication of components.
Write documents such as IQ, OQ, and PQ.
Prepare, maintain, and review validations and protocols.
Follow all CPI cGMP and CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Employees at CPI work with and/or are familiar with the GMP requirements for Food, Dietary Supplements, Pharmaceuticals, or other elements of each.
Depending on the position, the employee will be aware of Halal and/or Kosher requirements.
Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Knowledge Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 0-3 years of job-related experience.
Experience with AutoCAD and SolidWorks programs.
Proficient with MS Office programs: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Sharepoint.
Ability to complete complex engineering projects and assignments.
Ability to meet project objectives and deadlines.
Knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) preferred.
Ability to work well with other departments to achieve shared goals.
