Electro-Mechanical Reliability Technician (Food Processing) Imagine starting your shift in Denver, Colorado with a quick huddle, grabbing your tools, and heading to the production floor where your craftsmanship keeps people and equipment moving safely. One hour you might be calibrating a pneumatic control, the next you’re diagnosing an electrical circuit, and by mid-morning you’re in a boom lift checking a utility system—all to ensure our products are processed to Superior Farms’ standards and in alignment with USDA rules, regulations, and requirements.

Job Type : Full-time, on site

Shifts Available : early morning (4 AM), morning (7 AM), and late morning (8 AM)

Pay Rate : $24.00 – $26.00 per hour depending on experience

FLSA Status : Hourly, Non-Exempt

What You’ll Do

Execute both minor and complex repairs across buildings and production equipment, partnering with senior technicians for major projects.

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance—inspect belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, grease bearings and seals, and swap out worn parts.

Calibrate and repair pneumatic systems to keep processes precise.

Install, repair, and replace electrical wiring, control circuits, switches, and refrigeration components, including work tied to remodeling and new electrical services.

Use and operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and boom lifts safely in support of maintenance tasks.

Handle facility upkeep such as windows, doors / locks, closets, window blinds, drywall / plaster repairs, and painting.

Operate computer-based systems that monitor and control mechanical and utility equipment.

Respond to urgent maintenance calls to minimize downtime.

Maintain daily / weekly / monthly PM checklists and accurate records of all scheduled work.

What You Bring Minimum Experience / Education

High school diploma or GED, or one year of related experience / training.

At least one year of forklift experience.

Background in building and mechanical equipment maintenance / repair, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.

Proficiency with hand and power tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Foundational skills across welding, plumbing, electrical, control circuits, PLCs, pneumatics, software, hydraulics, carpentry, motors, pumps, and utility equipment operation / repair.

Strong attention to detail, clear communication, and diligent follow-up.

Ability to read and understand simple instructions, short memos, and correspondence; write simple correspondence; and communicate effectively one-on-one and in small groups.

Math proficiency : add / subtract / multiply / divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; compute rates / ratios / percentages ; interpret drawings and schematics.

Understanding of how a production facility operates.

Organized multitasker with accurate counting skills and sound judgment, problem solving, and common-sense thinking.

Comfort working in a range of temperatures; basic understanding of GMPs and HACCP.

Ability to work early hours, with overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed (not guaranteed).

Bilingual Spanish / English preferred; must be able to read and write English.

Computer skills preferred for maintenance roles.

Physical Demands

Standing / Walking : Frequently for 8–12 hours per day.

Sitting : None.

Lifting / Carrying : Frequent lifting from 1–100 lbs; some projects may exceed 100 lbs using both arms.

Pushing / Pulling : Frequent; moving items up to 100 lbs with both arms.

Bending : Frequent; self-paced with attention to body mechanics.

Kneeling / Crouching / Crawling : Frequent.

Reaching / Handling : Frequent; handling varied box sizes and reaching shelves, pallets, and forklift forks.

Climbing : Occasional; in / out of trucks, racks, and pallets.

Driving : Frequent; forklift and pallet jack.

Work Environment Expect frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and occasional exposure to wet / humid conditions, cold temperatures, heights, airborne particles / fumes, chemicals, outdoor weather, electrical shock risk, and vibration. Noise levels range from moderate to occasionally loud.
