LOCUM CONSULTANT - GENERAL SURGERY

LOCATION Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin, Moray, Scotland
OVERVIEW The Surgical Unit at NHS Grampian, Dr Gray’s Hospital wishes to recruit 1 Locum Consultant General Surgeon to join a team of 2 Consultant General Surgeons and 2 Specialist Doctors. This is a full‑time position (10 PA’s). Dr Gray’s Hospital is situated in Elgin, the county town of Moray. The surrounding area is considered to be of outstanding natural beauty. This post offers a unique opportunity to practice surgery in an area with a high quality of life, excellent schools, affordable housing and superb recreational facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Elective and emergency general surgery, including paediatrics and urology.
Provide surgical services within the hospital and at selected community hospitals.
Work in close association with Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, a tertiary referral and major trauma centre.
Support teaching for medical students and trainees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Full registration with the GMC and licence to practise. (Licence must be in place prior to starting.)
Breadth of experience in elective and emergency general surgery, including paediatrics and urology.
Experience with community hospital pathways and tertiary centre referrals.
