Job Summary

The Natural Gas Construction Manager provides management and direction of utility construction activities. Duties include project management, resource allocation, equipment management, and utility construction oversight. The role also supports HR, payroll, accounting, and administrative functions, and works closely with field personnel, senior operations management, and customers.

Responsibilities

Manage all projects to completion on‑time and within budget.

Schedule crews, delegate tasks, review project timelines, and supervise work performance and quality.

Participate in the hiring process and maintain all employment related paperwork.

Promote a safe work environment, holding crews accountable to safe work practices.

Determine job costs, labor, and materials needed, ensuring on‑time deliveries.

Prepare and interpret drawings, graphs, maps, blueprints, bid documents, contracts, proposals, and specifications.

Identify and resolve any blueprint issues prior to and during construction.

Identify and supervise subcontractors, inspect work, and bill relevant personnel/contractors.

Take responsibility for all personnel and any vehicles or equipment in their control.

Participate in meetings with senior operations management, peers, and/or customers.

Participate in estimating, bidding, contract negotiations, and change order preparation.

Qualifications

Associate degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

5 years of relevant Construction Manager experience within the Natural Gas contractor.

2 years in a supervisory position.

OSHA 30 Certification.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering.

10 years of relevant experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment and frequently uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, copiers, and scanners. The position is primarily sedentary but requires some filing or lifting. The employee must be able to bend, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds.
