Assure the best patient care possible by supervising the facility and directing the nursing staff during the shift. Assist the Director of Nursing in directing, coordinating, and supervising the Nursing Services Department. Supervise nursing services for the facility during shift in accordance with the Nursing Practice Act, facility policies and procedures, and local, state, and federal regulations. Supervise and assist nurses with patients during acute episodes. Deal with employee problems on a timely basis and document actions. Assume on‑call responsibilities. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
High school graduate. Registered Nurse, graduated from an accredited School of Nursing. Current, valid license from North Carolina Board of Nursing and submit proof of license renewal every other year. Provide quality nursing care to patients, follow doctor orders, and have a genuine interest in geriatric nursing. CPR certified yearly. Attend in‑service training and other staff meetings as required. Ability to supervise nursing staff ensuring that work assignments are completed appropriately and timely. Read, know, and follow personnel, department and facility policies and procedures and adhere to local, state, and federal requirements. Long Term Care experience preferred. Weekend premium pay.
