Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health position at Willow Springs Center (Reno, NV)
Responsibilities Our Nurses provide professional nursing care to youth in the residential treatment setting in accordance with the authorized scope of practice specified in the Nurse Practice Act. They identify patient health care needs utilizing physical and behavioral assessment skills and make comprehensive clinical observations and evaluations of health needs, including subtle abnormalities and changes in condition. Nurses develop nursing care plans by assessing patients’ psychological and physical condition, creating plans for treatment, services, and health education based on present and predicted needs of the patient. They participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams and collaborate with professional and paralegal staff to ensure optimum care for our special patients. Nurses administer medications as prescribed, ensuring correct time, dosage, and appropriate route, while monitoring patients for side effects or allergic reactions. They observe patients to determine medication effectiveness, correctly document findings, and make crucial decisions to restrain patients who threaten themselves or others or are hostile and combative.

Qualifications Licensure:
Current license or permit to practice as an RN in the state of employment.
Education:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
At least one year in a healthcare setting. Prior psychiatric experience preferred. Child & Adolescent experience a plus!
