Job Summary Under the direct supervision of a Radiologic Technologist, the Radiology Student performs a variety of imaging procedures while adhering to regulatory standards and facility policies. The position provides hands‑on clinical training for students currently enrolled in a Radiologic Technology program, with a strong emphasis on patient safety, accurate documentation, and technical competency.

Essential Functions

Performs imaging procedures under supervision, ensuring patient safety and care quality

Reviews patient history and physician's orders; prepares equipment and selects appropriate imaging parameters

Follows radiation safety and infection control guidelines

Assists with patient positioning, shielding, and education before and during procedures

Monitors and reports patient condition changes; analyzes image quality and routes for radiologist interpretation

Operates imaging and PACS equipment; reports malfunctions appropriately

Maintains accurate documentation according to facility standards

Participates in quality improvement, equipment maintenance, and restocking of supplies

Administers contrast media when ordered and within scope of practice

Performs additional related duties within scope of practice as assigned

Maintains a professional appearance and safeguards patient confidentiality

Complies with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and annual education requirements

Physically able to perform job functions including lifting and moving patients, standing, walking, and operating equipment in clinical environments

Education

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required

Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program

Licenses/Certifications

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association required within time frame required by facility policy

Experience
