GENERAL SUMMARY: RN Registered Nurse, Operating Room – Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital
Full Time, 40 hours/week, 7am-3:30pm (May need to work an off‑shift for coverage as needed). Sign on bonus Eligible: Up to $5,000.
Henry Ford Providence Novi Hospital is a 277‑bed facility offering advanced specialty care spanning cardiology, oncology, neuroscience, orthopedics, women’s services, and more, including treatment at its comprehensive stroke center and Level II trauma center. The hospital provides leading‑edge treatments and technologies to address the diverse healthcare needs of the local community.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care.
Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family.
Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team.
Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.
Deliver professional nursing care in the operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or other invasive procedures.
Perform scrub functions including theselection and handling of instruments and supplies used during procedure.
Perform circulating functions including monitoring, recording and communicating patient condition and managing overall nursing care of patient before, during and after procedure.
Directly assist operating physician with surgical tasks including hemostasis, suturing and wound exposure as well as patient positioning.
Prepare operating rooms and surgical instruments and equipment for use.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
BSN preferred. Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans.
Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED
Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
2‑years of OR experience preferred.
