Job Summary:
Test technicians are responsible for testing products before they are released to Quality assurance. The tests that are performed ensure that products are safe for use and free of any defects.
Responsibilities
Inspect product functions as well as monitor test procedures and equipment
Comprehend electrical schematics and troubleshoot to component level
Be analytical, observant, patient, and communicative about the precise nature of work
Compile reports detailing findings and present them to supervisors and company heads
Offer suggestions for improving the product or preventing future defects
Have a strong understanding of various scientific and elementary engineering concepts
Use math skills (statistics and algebra) to interpret test results with software, and perform calculations by hand
Utilize a wide range of machines and software programs regularly
Qualifications
2 years of previous experience as a test technician
Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology, or related field highly desired
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. while sitting, standing, and climbing for long periods
