Job Description Scope:
Collect specimens for laboratory analysis and prepare for processing by the laboratory. Greet and receive all patients in a professional, warm, and efficient manner. Utilize the laboratory software; register patients into the system for proper specimen processing. Make sure to maximize in‑house laboratory processing.
Functions
Perform venipuncture on patients in both a timely and professional manner.
Verify laboratory orders are available and patients are registered.
Process specimens for internal and external processing.
Manage the laboratory area.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Graduate of a phlebotomy training program.
Phlebotomy certification highly preferred.
2 years’ experience in a laboratory required; oncology experience preferred.
