Job Summary Contract position with potential for permanent. Job Code: CVDJP00029605. Location: Owasso, OK. Schedule: Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM. Duration: 3 rotations of 12 weeks each (approximately 6 months) with potential for permanent placement. Benefits are available.

Key Responsibilities

Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.

Prepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.

Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary.

Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

Work independently and within a team environment.

Proficient with computers; familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus.

Demonstrate high attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills.

Pass a standardized color vision screen.

Be flexible to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs.

Candidate Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science, or

BS in Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science from an accredited college or university with at least one year of training or experience in the specialty, equivalent to that received in a school of Medical Technology.

90 semester hours from an accredited institution that include: 16 semester hours of Biology, 16 semester hours of Chemistry (including at least 6 hours of inorganic chemistry), and 3 semester hours of Mathematics, along with having completed an accredited Clinical Laboratory training program, one year of documented Clinical Laboratory training, or experience in the specialty.

Associate’s degree in Medical Technology.

Applicants must meet CLIA standards for testing.

Preferred Credentials ASCP or AMT certification preferred. Basic Blood Bank experience is required.

Generalist Scope Generalist – Hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, etc. Group types and screens with no antibody identification.
