Wellness Director plays an integral role in upholding the mission to wholeheartedly support, empower, and enhance the lives of each resident. Our Wellness Directors supervise all Wellness team members. This is a leadership position within the community, and you may serve as manager on duty in the absence of the Assistant Executive Director or Executive Director.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the Wellness team, ensuring proper training, performance management, and competency assessments. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Delegate tasks appropriately to team members in accordance with their skills, competencies, and state regulations. Monitor task completion for effectiveness, safety, and compliance.
Oversee the Medication Technician program, including training, supervision, and competency evaluations. Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant medication administration as outlined by state law.
Conduct initial and ongoing resident assessments to determine care levels. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and maintain individualized service plans.
Ensure full compliance with applicable state and federal regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures. Perform regular audits to identify and resolve any compliance gaps.
Implement and monitor safety and risk management protocols, including infection control, fall prevention, and emergency preparedness. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions as needed.
Serve as the primary liaison for residents and families in all wellness-related matters. Maintain clear, professional, and timely communication to address concerns and ensure satisfaction.
Manage the Wellness department’s operational budget, including supply costs and labor expenses. Ensure appropriate staffing levels and scheduling to meet resident care needs.
Coordinate and maintain effective communication with external care providers, including physicians, home health agencies, and hospice services to ensure seamless care delivery.
Provide routine reports to the Executive Director and Regional Team detailing departmental performance, compliance metrics, staffing updates, and areas of concern or improvement.
Maintain a proactive, hands‑on leadership style to ensure clinical and operational excellence within the department.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director or Regional Management Team including those that may vary based on resident needs, staffing levels, operational directives, or corporate initiatives.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in senior living or long‑term care. Experience with electronic medical records is preferred.
Strong clinical knowledge, leadership skills, and ability to communicate effectively with residents and families.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Work systems.
Experience with Electronic Medical Records/Electronic Health Records systems
State Criminal Background Check and LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement.
LIC 503 Health Screening Report.
ANY CERTIFICATION PER STATE REQUIREMENT:
Tuberculosis (TB) clearance as required by the state.
First Aid and CPR Certifications as required by the state.
Criminal Background check cleared.
Unencumbered nursing license (Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse or Registered Nurse) in the state of employment.
Fingerprint clearance as required by the state.
Must be at least 18 years of age as outlined in state regulations.
Must be able to read, speak and write the English language.
