SUMMARY The Sales Account Manager will drive sales growth by meeting and exceeding sales goals and objectives. This position requires a thorough understanding of medical compounds, market conditions related, and the ability to communicate and collaborate across departments to ensure customer satisfaction effectively. In this role, the Account Manager will develop and maintain strong customer relationships, understand market trends and execute each sales process effectively. They will provide superior and efficient customer service and account management through daily management to strategic domestic accounts, and seeking solutions, both internally and externally, for process improvement, industry and logistical changes, and customers’ requests. The Account Manager must communicate clearly and concisely to team members and others within our organization along with customers and vendors and support product management with pricing and forecasting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Act and serve as the main point of contact in all matters related to medical client concerns and needs
Develop and maintain relationships with current and potential medical accounts in territory
Work closely with the Global Healthcare managers in the development of strategic sales initiatives to achieve established objectives.
Prepare the monthly FC update, budget and BP and sharing with the Global Healthcare business manager at the convenient time
Communicate daily by telephone and/or email with medical customers regarding order status and proactively communicate information relative to their needs
Negotiate and maintain mutual compliance with established pricing agreements. Price will be shared with the Global Healthcare business manager for approval
Comply with all company and governmental policies and procedures
Provide KPIs on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis; SIP, Monthly report out, etc.
Monitor yearly objectives/goals to reach the medical global goals (personal and team - global)
Participate in industry associations and trade shows as needed and approved by Global Healthcare managers
Determine individual territory sales strategies for all customers. This is to include: product mix, margin upgrade, ship to locations, sales call frequency, management visit frequency, technical service visit frequency and agenda
Identify and perform due diligence for new direct and distribution opportunities
Schedule trips and calls
Work/Communicate with our Supply chain department to ensure on-time delivery
Work with customer service representatives, technical and development and product management on complaint resolution upon receipt from customer
Communicate with the T&D team, Operations team and Sales personnel on product selection, availability and shipment status
Ensure customer master data is up to date in systems and profiles
Coordinate and review customer credit status with credit analyst to prevent shipments to customers who are credit risks
Fully support company goals of continuous improvement and operational excellence at strategic and tactical levels including reviewing areas of responsibility for improvement opportunities to initiate projects or communicate ideas to management as well as active participation on our team
Any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned
Business travel 50% or more
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Master’s degree is preferred
Must have a minimum of 5 years of sales experience
Demonstrated skills in Account relationship management
Excellent skills as an effective and persuasive speaker; excellent writing skills
Ability to work with high level executives and support personnel
Strong communications skills are required
Must be detailed oriented
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and climb; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to 30 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently make minor decisions with limited information, general decisions in the absence of specific directions, and perform activities requiring sustained concentration. Must be able to drive and travel by airplane.
WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. During active remediation additional requirements may include fit testing for respiratory equipment, chemical suits, face shields, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs. Moderate travel (20-40%) may be required in the performance of duties.
