The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for an Assistant Professor of General Surgery in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. The candidate will provide comprehensive general surgery services at University Medical Center of Southern Nevada (UMC) and affiliated hospitals, the primary teaching hospital for the school.
Responsibilities
Inpatient and outpatient general surgery care, including operative general surgery cases.
Participation in a rotational shared call schedule, including days, nights, and weekends.
Active participation in the education and supervision of medical students and general surgery residents within an ACGME‑accredited training program, contributing to teaching in the operating room, inpatient units, and clinical settings.
Contribution to teaching in the operating room, inpatient units, and clinical settings.
Minimum Qualifications
MD or DO from an accredited college or university recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
Board Certified or Board Eligible in General Surgery, with credentials obtained prior to the start date.
Eligibility for an unrestricted Nevada medical license, Nevada pharmacy and DEA licenses, and malpractice insurance.
Ability to obtain privileges at affiliated hospitals and other site locations as needed.
Academic credentials and research activity will be considered for rank recommendation by the SOM Faculty Appointment, Promotion, and Tenure Committee.
