Overview
Three Rivers Behavioral Health is a 136‑bed treatment facility in West Columbia, SC that offers integrated inpatient, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs for adolescents and adults. Responsibilities
Provide precertification and verification of benefits for incoming patients.
Coordinate utilization management functions through collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team and review external review organizations and managed care companies.
Discuss insurance options with patients and obtain patient signatures.
Complete insurance verification from payors, obtain correct information, and submit precertification and appeals.
Work on a day shift, per diem, on‑site position.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in a recognized mental health field or Registered Nurse.
Minimum two years psychiatric experience in chart analysis and utilization review.
Excellent oral and written communication skills for communicating with patients, physicians, staff, and payors.
Knowledge of external review organizations, payor sources, financial planning, and contracting (managed care, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.
