Cost Accounting Supervisor
to join its Accounting & Finance organization. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager, this role serves as a key functional expert supporting manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on product costing, inventory control, manufacturing variance analysis, and full P&L ownership.
This position plays a critical role in operational decision-making, performance improvement initiatives, and execution of strategic objectives across manufacturing assets.
Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Supervise all financial reporting, planning, and analysis activities for assigned manufacturing plants/assets
Manage month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
Oversee all cost accounting functions, including:
Standard cost maintenance and cost roll-ups
Margin and profitability analysis
Manufacturing variance analysis
Physical inventory counts
Partner closely with plant operations to implement cost controls, improve cost efficiency, and drive operational performance
Support FP&A and Sales teams with pricing analysis and profitability insights
Prepare and coordinate documentation for periodic reviews, annual audits, and internal/external audit requests
Develop monthly and quarterly internal management reporting packages and ad-hoc analyses
Support annual budgeting processes in coordination with Corporate Planning & Budgeting
Prepare and update monthly forecasts for management review and approval
Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with SOX requirements
Stay current on technical accounting standards and assess the impact of new pronouncements
Identify key areas for process improvement and performance enhancement
Train, coach, and develop staff; establish goals, provide feedback, and support professional growth
Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
Minimum 6 years of cost accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility, preferably in a manufacturing environment
CPA or CMA strongly preferred
Experience with:
Financial reporting
Full P&L ownership
Budgeting and forecasting
General accounting
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems
Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities
