What to Expect Production Supervisor is the front-line leader of the Production Team. The role involves communicating safety, people, quality, rate, and cost goals, coaching and mentoring associates, motivating the team to achieve higher performance, and solving problems to meet business objectives. The ideal candidate will continually seek ways to eliminate waste and drive continuous improvement, work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, maintenance, and management, and establish effective relationships within Tesla.

What You’ll Do

Provide effective supervision and coaching to assigned shift employees to reach required quality and production goals. Maintain department records and inventories.

Manage the movement of product through the production area, ensuring continuous flow.

Plan and organize work for smooth operations, ensuring standard operating procedures and engineering procedures are current, accurate, and compliant.

Execute Environmental Health and Safety functions, including staff safety training, incident documentation, hazard correction, and continuous improvement empowerment.

Collaborate with employees to resolve technical and personnel problems.

Schedule employees to meet production needs while ensuring compliance with plant policies for vacations and other time off.

Maintain shift-to-shift communication to keep all team members aligned with goals.

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree and 2–3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, or equivalent experience.

Ability to meet deadlines and be accountable for quality and quantity.

Skill to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, setting and achieving goals.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Flexibility to work a schedule that includes weekday and weekend overtime, day/night shift.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer skills.

Capacity to create and execute production plans, make decisions, troubleshoot, and work under pressure.
