Accounting Manager – CAS Finance Team – JLL Location:
Westmont, hybrid
What this job involves As an Accounting Manager on JLL’s CAS Finance Team, you’ll lead financial oversight for a portfolio of retail properties, ensuring exceptional accuracy and client service in all financial reporting. This role combines technical accounting expertise with team leadership as you guide property teams through complex financial processes and serve as the primary liaison for client accounting requirements. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining JLL’s reputation for financial excellence while developing and mentoring a team of accounting professionals in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment that directly supports our property‑management operations.
What your day-to-day will look like
Review and approve financial reports, annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and billing reconciliations prepared by property teams for your assigned retail properties.
Collaborate with clients to understand their specific accounting requirements and ensure property teams implement these standards consistently and accurately.
Supervise and develop a team of 2–4 accounting professionals, providing guidance, training and performance feedback to enhance their technical skills.
Serve as the primary resource for property teams on complex accounting questions, lease interpretations and procedural clarifications.
Coordinate cash‑management activities between property owners and on‑site teams, ensuring proper fund flow and documentation.
Lead training initiatives for both Westmont‑based staff and property‑level accounting personnel to maintain high standards across the portfolio.
Participate in special finance projects as directed by the Finance Director, contributing analytical skills and process‑improvement recommendations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
4–6 years of public and/or private accounting experience, with real‑estate accounting experience strongly preferred.
Proven supervisory experience managing accounting staff and processes.
Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly advanced Excel functions and financial modeling.
Demonstrated ability to interpret and understand retail lease documents and their accounting implications.
Experience with property‑management accounting systems, preferably Yardi or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in commercial real estate or property‑management accounting.
Knowledge of additional accounting software systems beyond Yardi.
Experience with client‑facing roles and managing multiple stakeholder relationships.
Background in training development and delivery for accounting processes.
Familiarity with retail property operations and lease‑accounting complexities.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.

Estimated compensation for this position:
95,000.00 – 108,000.00 USD per year.
