What You Will Do

Provides highly visible customer support through on-site installation of linear accelerators and imaging systems, oversees diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems.

Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment.

Instructs customers in the operation and maintenance of the system.

Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects, interpreting customers’ needs and facilitating resolution.

May include any aspect of field support, not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking installations and upgrades, supporting a wide range of product per technical documentation and company guidelines.

Demonstrates equipment operation and specification to customers according to Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP).

Advise customers in ordering spare parts or service requests such as emergency and contractual services.

Advise customers on where to find Customer Technical Bulletins and their importance.

Inputs detailed records of installation and upgrade work into company information systems.

Maintains high professionalism and safety per VMS guidelines and customer regulations.

Performs parts inventory and ordering for assigned installation, replenishing spare parts kit appropriately and timely.

Maintains technical documentation regarding operating characteristics, design factors, technical performance, and development of products to improve installation efficiency.

Reports by means of FSRs, time sheets, expense reports, etc., ensuring accurate company statistical data on customer-oriented activities.

Completes all required installation documentation and updates all requested data for tracking purposes.

Uses prescribed problem‑resolution escalation procedures and requests technical assistance when necessary in a timely manner.

What You Will Have

High School Diploma or equivalent and 2–4 years related experience or an Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related program preferred.

Knowledge and professional experience with electronic and electromechanical engineering, RF energy producing devices and electronic cooling systems.

Proficient use of test equipment for verification and calibration of electronic equipment.

Basic networking skills to integrate the machine onto the customer server.

Knowledge of PC-based systems.

Customer‑focused attitude.

Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication.

Fluency in English, both written and spoken.

Experience with RF energy producing devices and electronic cooling systems.

Advanced knowledge of networks and networking techniques.

Basic computer usage and debugging skills.

Basic understanding of imaging systems.

Vendor Credentialing Requirements Many Varian clients require employees and representatives to meet certain “Vendor Credentialing” requirements before they can access their sites. Position must meet all requirements necessary for full client access and continue to meet them during employment. Requirements include valid identification (photo, driver’s license or passport), criminal background checks, drug screens, immunizations (Hep B, MMR, Varicella, Influenza, Tetanus), annual TB testing, and healthcare trainings.

The Base Pay Range For This Position Is $52,720 – $72,490
