We are looking for a skilled
Construction Administrator
to provide day-to-day oversight of construction activities for the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (VAMC), Chicago, IL Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Infrastructure Upgrade project. The role ensures contractor compliance with quality, schedule, and safety requirements and assists in resolving construction issues.
This position is contingent upon the award of the contract with the proposal submission due on January 20, 2026. Project duration: one year plus two option years.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor on-site construction activities and ensure conformance with project plans and specifications.
Assist in quality assurance, safety management, and contract compliance oversight.
Review and manage submittals, daily logs, RFIs, and change order proposals.
Identify deficiencies or nonconformance and coordinate corrective actions.
Track project progress against baseline schedules and provide updates to the COR.
Participate in weekly progress meetings and maintain thorough documentation of inspections.
Coordinate with architects, engineers, and contractors to achieve project objectives.
Qualifications
Degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 5 years of construction administration experience on healthcare or complex institutional projects.
Knowledge of construction practices, scheduling, quality assurance, cost control, and safety standards.
Experience monitoring general and subcontractor performance.
Strong communication, documentation, and software skills.
