Under the general direction of the Electronics Supervisor, the Electronics Technician I assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of various electronic equipment and systems, ensuring their efficient operation in both consumer and industrial applications. This role involves troubleshooting and solving problems effectively, with a focus on systems such as voice and data communications, fire alarms, access control, CCTV, and public address systems.
This position requires flexibility to work rotating shifts, including days, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the demands of our 24/7 operations.
Requires availability for emergency call-in.

COMPENSATION: $25.55+ Based on Experience
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Installs, modifies, calibrates, tests, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs a variety of electronic equipment and associated subassemblies, including fire alarms, access control systems, and communication devices.
Conducts operator-level troubleshooting, installation, and configuration of life safety and security systems, including surveillance equipment and intercom systems.
Performs regular preventative maintenance tasks and conduct building assessments, including physical inspections and digital reporting.
Designs, constructs, assembles, and rearranges circuits and devices for operational and testing purposes.
Assists in inspecting and coordinating work performed by authorized vendors or contractors to ensure adherence to project specifications and guidelines.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations while performing tasks to ensure a safe working environment, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting potential hazards.
Regular and reliable attendance is required as an essential function of the position.

REQUIRED FOR ALL HCAA JOBS
In the event of an emergency or disaster that impacts the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority (HCAA), an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department or the HCAA Emergency Operations Center (EOC). Such assignments may be before, during, or after the emergency/disaster.
Complies with all HCAA Policies, Procedures, and Standards.
QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS) High School Diploma or equivalent.
One (1) year verified work experience.
Or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Must possess a valid Florida Driver License.
Knowledge of codes, rules, regulations, and requirements relevant to safety and operational standards in electronic systems.
Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
Knowledge of electronics technology, including fire alarm systems, PA systems, access control systems, and CCTV.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others within and outside the Authority.
Ability to handle restricted, sensitive, and confidential information.
Ability to provide outstanding customer service, serve the public, and represent the Authority with courtesy and professionalism.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES Standing and walking up to 6 hours per day.
Frequent lifting up to 50 Ibs or more.
Bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, dragging, reaching overhead, kneeling & crawling up to 6 hours per day.
Frequent typing.
Very frequent exposure to extreme weather.
Occasional exposure to noxious fumes, chemicals & insects.
Navigate continuously heights and confined areas.
Very frequent use of car/ light truck.
Frequent use of heavy equipment & power tools.
