The Opportunity
We are seeking a Construction Manager for our Transportation-Construction Management (T-CM) Practice in the Richmond, VA area.
The Construction Manager will help manage and administer roadway and bridge transportation construction projects as well as the internal workings of a satellite office. Responsible for project management, contract administration, review and interpretation of plans, specification, and other construction contract documents, monitor scope, schedule and budgets, prepare and process work orders; mentor, supervise and assign work to subordinate staff members while enforcing the practices, methods and procedures of a professional work environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited program with 7+ years experience or
High School Diploma or GED with 10 years relevant experience
A minimum of 7-10 years’ experience with major road or bridge construction inspection
A minimum of 4 years experience with VDOT contract specifications
Ability to manage construction inspection activities on a wide variety of roadway and bridge construction projects.
Knowledge of material testing procedures and testing equipment
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Good driving record
Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist or stoop frequently and for prolonged periods
Ability to reach horizontally as well as vertically for required tasks
Ability to use construction or inspection safety equipment including fall protection
Ability to lift and/or move you to 50 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
Licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan or the ability to obtain a license within 6 months
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification
All VDOT Material Certifications
OSHA 10 hour
