Nuganics is hiring a
Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician
to join our team and support our growing portfolio of luxury properties. This role is perfect for someone with strong diagnostics experience, excellent client communication skills, and a passion for plant health who is ready to take their career to the next level - with growth into a Lead PHC Technician and future leadership responsibilities. The ideal candidate with be located within Long Island or the Hamptons’.
Compensation & Benefits
Base salary:
$80,000–$100,000 annually (based on experience)
Performance-based incentives
Career growth opportunities:
Additional earning potential as you grow into a lead role and take on scheduling and oversight responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat health issues affecting trees, shrubs, and turf, including insects, diseases, and abiotic stress
Apply fertilizers, pesticides, biologicals, and other treatments accurately and safely
Operate and maintain spray rigs and application equipment
Prepare and maintain detailed DEC-compliant reports
Engage professionally with homeowners, estate managers, and property staff
Identify issues early and make recommendations to protect plant health
Maintain equipment, trucks, and supplies to the highest standards
What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications
Valid NYS DEC 3A Pesticide Applicator License
5–10+ years of PHC, arboriculture, or related experience
Strong plant health diagnostic skills
Comfortable with spray rig operations and equipment upkeep
Clean driver’s license and reliable transportation
Organized, dependable, safety-oriented, and professional
Preferred / Nice to Have
ISA Certified Arborist
Experience working on high-end residential properties
Experience mentoring or hands-on leadership
