Facility location: Kent Crossing – 2320 East Beltline SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546
Schedule: PRN/Contingent
General Summary In this role you will provide physical therapy services to patients impaired by physical dysfunction, including assessment, treatment planning and implementation of treatment plans. You will participate in patient care conferences, program development, and screenings as appropriate. You will provide supervision for PTAs and aides as assigned. You will complete appropriate documentation and adhere to policies, procedures and current standards of clinical practice.
Your Responsibilities
Conduct physical therapy screenings and evaluations to determine patient physical status.
Provide physical therapy treatment consistent with professional and ethical standards of the APTA for Physical Therapists.
Develop and implement treatment plans using strengthening, modalities and retraining to reach patients’ highest potential for independence.
Provide direct patient care in accordance with productivity standards by using graded activities to facilitate the restoration of physical and functional abilities.
Check, instruct, assign and review the work of PTAs and aides as assigned.
Provide documentation to maintain quality of the medical record as it relates to accuracy, continuity of care and reimbursement guidelines.
Participate, as requested, in patient care conferences per company guidelines.
Participate in CQI activities as required ensuring continuous quality of care.
Promote current standards of clinical practice through participation in continuing education and in‑service programs.
Coordinate and/or participate in in‑service programs for internal/external groups.
Participate in new program development.
Participate in company meetings and additional activities directed to facilitate effective departmental operations.
Required Qualifications
Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
Licensure as required by the State of Michigan.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to exercise professional judgement and initiative when analyzing problems and recommending solutions.
Initiative and flexibility in the work environment.
Ability to respond effectively to the needs of patients and their families.
Physical ability to bend, position, transfer and lift patients weighing from 80 pounds to over 300 pounds, without restriction, utilizing lifting devices clinically recommended for the patient.
