At Covenant Community Care, we are a faith based non‑profit Federally Qualified Health Center serving the communities of Detroit in our clinics that offer integrated medical, dental and counseling healthcare needs. We are seeking new team members to join our dental clinics.

Job Description The Dental Assistants in our clinics will be responsible for providing ongoing support to the dentist/hygienist in providing quality dental care to patients. The ideal candidate will be flexible, reliable, and have excellent customer service skills. They must be organized and able to work well in a team environment. Professionalism is a must, as they will be interacting with patients on a daily basis. This entry level position is the foundation for learning four‑handed dentistry and advancing to Dental Assistant levels two (DA2) and three (DA3).

Responsibilities

Assisting the dentist and hygienist during procedures

Assist in the general workflow of the clinic

Preparing and sterilizing instruments and equipment

Weekly maintenance of dental equipment

Taking and developing x rays

Take and record medical and dental records

Record patient vital signs

Maintaining patient records

Performing other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Valid State of Michigan Driver's License and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years in a dental office/environment.

Certification in dental assisting preferred.

Spanish/English bilingual is a plus, but not required.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and float between sites when needed (float premium provided)

Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and procedures

All candidates must successfully complete a criminal background check, TB test, and education credentialing as part of the hiring process. Candidates that float to the Mobile Dental team also require background check for Detroit Public Schools Community District (DPSCD).
