The Clinical Program Supervisor provides clinical and operational leadership to ensure high-quality, compliant, and client-centered behavioral health services. This role oversees daily program operations, supervises clinical staff, ensures regulatory and quality standards are met, and promotes integrated care across mental health, substance use disorder, and community-based services.
Clinical Oversight & Service Delivery
Provide daily clinical oversight to clients/patients and team members.
Maintain required weekly direct service hours, including intakes, individual, family, and group therapy as applicable.
Facilitate weekly clinical staffing, team meetings, and diagnostic disposition meetings.
Ensure transition planning for all clients/patients and timely communication of client issues to Leadership.
Promote integrated clinical, community support, and physical healthcare services.
Quality, Compliance & Documentation
Complete monthly and quarterly record reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and Quality Improvement (QI) standards.
Monitor progress notes, client files, and service documentation for completeness and accuracy.
Address deficiencies through follow-up and staff coaching.
Ensure incident reporting and crisis response are completed per policy.
Staff Supervision & Development
Provide clinical supervision, direction, and performance evaluations to assigned team members.
Identify strengths, address performance concerns, and maintain weekly supervision and training records.
Ensure staff meet orientation, training, and continuing education requirements.
Communicate organizational goals, program changes, and expectations clearly.
Program Operations & Fiscal Management
Develop program schedules to meet client needs while ensuring adequate staffing coverage.
Monitor service delivery hours to ensure services are clinically appropriate and meet frequency and intensity requirements.
Adhere to program budget, monitor units of service, and assist with quarterly fiscal projections.
Coordinate substitute coverage, approve time off, and ensure uninterrupted program operations.
Community Collaboration & Quality Improvement
Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and referral sources.
Coordinate services and referrals to ensure comprehensive client and family support.
Participate in Quality Management activities, quarterly reports, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Address complaints and implement plans to improve communication and service quality.
Safety, Crisis & Environment
Respond to and follow up on crisis calls occurring outside program hours as needed.
Oversee safety, cleanliness, food services, vehicles, and overall program environment.
Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership.
Experience and Education Qualifications
Master’s degree in a behavioral health field with 3 years of professional experience and 1 year of supervisory experience in substance use disorder treatment;
OR
Bachelor’s degree in a behavioral health field with 4 years of professional experience and 2 years of supervisory experience;
OR
Qualified Addiction Professional (Missouri or applicable state) with 4 years of professional experience and 3 years of supervisory experience;
OR
Missouri-licensed counselor, psychologist, or physician with at least 1 year of professional and supervisory experience in substance use disorder treatment.
Qualified Mental Health Professional
credentials required per Missouri state regulations.
