The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed and within the scope of professional license. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge.
Responsibilities
Conduct physician‑prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment and devices.
Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using different methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, tracheal).
Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
Conduct reviews of patients’ chest x‑rays for further evaluation.
Perform pulmonary function studies and assist with respiratory care procedures.
Conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
Record and communicate all pertinent treatment information and patient responses.
Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and documentation.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure Specific qualifications and license requirements are essential for this role, as the Respiratory Therapist operates under minimal supervision and is expected to conduct various advanced procedures.
