Job Summary As a Radiology Technologist, you will utilize x‑ray, CT, and fluoroscopic equipment to assist in diagnosis and treatment while adhering to state, regulatory, and Radiation Rights guidelines. You will perform radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by licensed practitioners. You will exercise professional judgment in performing services and maintain appropriate patient care and safety throughout each exam. You will work closely with other healthcare team members to facilitate exceptional patient care and efficient completion of diagnostic studies while promoting optimal unit operations.
Responsibilities
Perform all diagnostic radiologic procedures.
Demonstrate technique to produce optimal studies.
Correctly use all equipment in the clinical area, including but not limited to fluoro, c‑arm, tomo, and portable units.
Interpret physician orders prior to performing exams to ensure optimal study.
Refer technique or study issues to the Senior Tech or radiologist as appropriate.
Utilize appropriate markers/ID on each exam.
Assist radiologist with procedures.
Demonstrate sterile technique as appropriate.
Prepare patients for exams.
Demonstrate awareness of physician supply preferences and/or use radiology preference cards.
Verbalize indication for various contrast mediums.
Provide patient care throughout procedure.
Assess patients’ level of understanding regarding procedure and provide information as needed at an appropriate level.
Ensure patient safety throughout exam.
Requirements
Two years experience as a Radiologic Technologist in an acute‑care setting (preferred).
Graduate from an accredited Radiology Technology program.
Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with Texas Medical Board (TMB).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy.
Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
