There is no pay associated with this position. This position serves as a Without Compensation Research Health Technician within the Office of Research and Development (ORD). The VA Research Program strives to promote Veteran-centered care to improve patient experiences and outcomes across VA healthcare and community settings and to advance value-driven care by providing Veterans the highest quality care at the lowest financial burden.
Qualifications
General experience that demonstrates providing operational support and coordination for the implementation of research and quality improvement projects; assisting with human research studies—capturing data via various tracking software applications; conducting independent research analysis and assessing/resolving any issues that may arise.
Position in this series range widely in type and include support duties to medical or health personnel such as audiologists, speech pathologists, medical officers, and optometrists. Therefore, technician experience is experience that required application of the knowledge, methods, and techniques of the position to be filled.
Education: Successful completion of 1 year (30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours) of study that included study in medical, health, or related fields. Transcripts must be attached.
Volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and others may be credited.
Physical Requirements: Predominantly sedentary; some walking, standing, bending, carrying moderate weight items; hand and eye coordination for delicate testing procedures.
