Overview Patient Registrar

Full-Time; 6:30-5:30 - Flexible - Monday-Friday

The Patient Access Representative is responsible for facilitating patient admission, registration, insurance verification, and scheduling, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the registration process. The role addresses patient inquiries and manages patient wayfinding. The role also supports administrative tasks and ensures compliance with financial and insurance procedures.

Responsibilities

Registration of multiple departments and appointment types (CMH Medical Clinic, Lab, Radiology, Infusion, Specialty Clinics, Emergency Department, etc.)

Routing all incoming facility calls

Communicating with ancillary departments to ensure smooth patient flow

Scheduling CMH Medical Clinic patients using critical thinking

Obtaining registration and financial documents and ensuring they are maintained in the patient’s medical record appropriately

Verify insurance eligibility and benefits of all appointment types, as well as collecting copays and account payments

Qualifications Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Understand the concepts, principles and practices of Health Information Services.

Previous experience in a healthcare setting performing front desk, patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, or similar administrative functions.
