Shift: 3×12 Nights
Pay: $2,228.40/week
Completion Bonus: $2,500 per contract (up to $7,500 after three contracts)
Position Overview ATC Healthcare is seeking an experienced and compassionate Progressive Care Unit Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in Nashville, Tennessee. The RN will provide specialized care for patients requiring close monitoring and advanced medical management in a step-down or intermediate care setting.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong critical-thinking skills, clinical expertise in cardiac and telemetry monitoring, and the ability to provide patient-centered care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver direct and continuous nursing care to PCU/step-down patients
Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and patient responses to therapy
Administer IV medications, drips, and oxygen therapy per physician orders
Manage patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and non-invasive ventilation
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other care providers to ensure optimal outcomes
Recognize and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition or deterioration
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and discharge instructions
Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols
Float to related units (such as telemetry or ICU step-down) as required
Qualifications
Active Tennessee RN license or Compact State RN license (required)
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
Minimum 2 years of recent PCU or step-down experience (required)
Certifications required: BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
Proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation and telemetry monitoring
Strong assessment, prioritization, and multitasking skills
EMR experience (Epic, Cerner, or similar systems preferred)
Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and recent tuberculosis test required.
