Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) utilizes the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation, and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to residents. The RN collaborates with residents, families, and inter‑disciplinary colleagues—including providers—to plan, implement, and evaluate care. The RN demonstrates competence and practices within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge, using appropriate age and population‑specific standards. Responsibilities include preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, and treatment, as well as coordination of care, resident assessment, resident education, and various nursing interventions. The RN may serve as charge nurse, delegating tasks to licensed and unlicensed assistive personnel in accordance with job descriptions, resident needs, and delegate competence. The RN ensures safe, reliable administration of resident care and resolves care and service concerns, functioning within the scope and standards of nursing practice outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and state regulatory rules.

Qualifications Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program is preferred, including but not limited to CCNE, ACEN, and NLN CNEA; Bachelor's Degree in nursing preferred. Holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where practice occurs or possesses multistate licensure in a NLC state. Maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
