Join The GEO Group as a Licensed Practical Nurse and help provide evidence-based rehabilitation to inmates. The GEO Group is a global leader in correctional and community reentry services. Responsibilities
Develop nursing care plans with guidance from the RN. Perform a complete physical assessment and medical history. Provide nursing care within your capacity and refer other medical problems to the appropriate physician. Administer prescribed medications as instructed. Periodically evaluate patients' symptoms, reactions, and progress, and report problems to management. Securely administer medication, taking precautions against drug hoarding and trafficking. Follow industry and company accreditation policies. Document all detainee contacts and keep medical records confidential. Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current, unrestricted license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state where the facility is located. Maintain a current copy of license on file at the facility at all times. Two (2) years of direct work experience preferred. Competence in the performance of crisis intervention, medical emergencies, physical assessment, medical nursing care, and psychiatric nursing care. Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing nursing diagnosis and provide appropriate follow‑through treatment. Active, valid driver's license. At least twenty‑one (21) years of age or older. United States citizen. Pass a background check and drug screen. Have resided within the United States or its territories for three or more years out of the last five.
