Job Overview The Behavioral Health Specialist, Social Work/Counselor II provides clinical mental health services to committed treatment-level youth and their families within secure facilities at Lookout Mountain YSC.

Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans using evidence-based curricula and case conceptualization models.

Provide individual, family, and group counseling services, utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, and the Sanctuary model.

Maintain accurate documentation of sessions, treatment progress, case management activities, and service coordination in the TRAILS system.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members, including client manager, education staff, milieu staff, and community stakeholders to coordinate care and transition planning.

Consult with medical team and psychiatrist regarding psychotropic medication use and service coordination.

Facilitate daily and multifamily group sessions and assist in training and coaching of staff on juvenile mental health interventions.

Minimum Qualifications

Current, valid Colorado or State participating in the Social Work Licensure Compact licensure as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) OR Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) OR Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist Candidate (LMFTC) OR Addiction Counselor Candidate (AC-C).

Preferred Qualifications

Relevant years of state experience in juvenile mental health or related field.

Highly Desired Competencies

CAC III or LAC to support coaching and oversight of Behavioral Health Specialists working towards CAC credentialing.

Conditions of Employment

Full background check, TRAILS and fingerprinting.

Must be 21 years of age, with no felony convictions or history of domestic violence.

State of Colorado residency required at the time of application and throughout employment.

Must possess a valid, non-restricted Colorado Driver’s License or non-restricted U.S. Driver’s License for positions within 30 miles of the CO state border.

Essential Services Designation required to provide essential or emergency services.
