Art Therapist Opportunity at Saint Simons By-the-Sea, a 101‑bed psychiatric and addiction treatment facility serving adults and adolescents. Located on Saint Simons Island, GA, we offer a serene environment to support patient recovery. Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and lead recreation programs for direct client care. Assess client leisure needs and develop behavioral treatment plans, goals, and interventions. Establish and coordinate the recreation therapy treatment program, including leisure education, aerobics, creative expression, outdoor education, community reintegration, and special events (birthdays, holidays, graduation parties). Develop and maintain a weekly schedule of client activities. Collaborate with physicians, social workers, nurses, psychologists, and other therapists to integrate recreation into the overall treatment plan. Participate in treatment team meetings and, when possible, therapeutic group sessions. Maintain relationships with community recreation therapy agencies. Duties & Activities
Ultimately manage the recreation therapy program and ensure it complements other services. Provide direct support to patients during therapy sessions. Maintain accurate documentation of activities and patient progress. Benefits
