About the Position A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients. The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective patient and family-centered care. Customer satisfaction and quality outcomes are essential components of this role. The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit. The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education. Supervision of licensed and non-licensed staff members is required. The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care. Focus on patient and family comfort, education, and satisfaction is critical. The RN applies educational and professional experiences in delivering quality care. Mentoring and precepting staff is part of the RN's responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
Assessment: Performs assessments and reassessments as warranted by patient condition. Demonstrates ability to make sound independent decisions.
Development & Implementation: Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care. Reviews and revises the plan as indicated. Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary services. Utilizes resources appropriately to support the needs of the unit and patients.
Evaluation: Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
Education: Facilitates and coordinates education specific to patient and family needs. Ensures appropriate care, treatment, and services during the stay and at discharge.
Leadership: Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel. Functions as a mentor and preceptor. Encourages and facilitates teamwork. Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement. Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts. Implements practice changes and complies with regulatory standards. Participates in the Practice Governance model.
Requirements
Required for Onboarding ACLS, BLS, Pharmacology Skills Checklist, Specialty Exam
Experience: Two (2) years of acute care RN experience
License: Registered Nurse
Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
Must-Have: Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN)
