Role: Veterinary Technician

Status: Full-time

Salary: Negotiable and based on experience

Schedule: 7:30 am–6 pm four days per week; 8 am–2 pm Saturdays one to two per month

Position Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team on a full‑time basis. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care, excellent technical skills, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Veterinary Technician at Stonebridge Veterinary Hospital, you will play a vital role in assisting our veterinarians with medical procedures, administering treatments, providing nursing care, and educating clients on proper pet care practices.

Responsibilities

Assist veterinarians with physical examinations, diagnostic procedures, and surgeries.

Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.

Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal analysis.

Take and develop radiographs as directed by the veterinarian.

Provide nursing care to hospitalized patients, including monitoring vital signs, administering fluids, and maintaining medical records.

Educate clients on topics such as preventative care, nutrition, and medication administration.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment areas, exam rooms, and surgical suites.

Handle and restrain animals safely and humanely during examinations and procedures.

Assist with client communications, appointments, and discharge instructions.

Qualifications

Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred but not required.

Minimum of 1‑2 years of experience working as a veterinary technician in a clinical setting.

Proficiency in basic veterinary medical procedures and terminology.

Strong technical skills including venipuncture, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with both clients and team members.

Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

Flexibility to work occasional weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
