Summary Our client is seeking a detail‑oriented Chemical Technician to support analytical testing within our petroleum additives laboratory. The ideal candidate will perform elemental analysis using ICP‑OES and ensure accurate, reliable, and timely delivery of analytical results.

Responsibilities

Conduct elemental analysis using ICP‑OES following established methods and quality standards.

Prepare samples, standards, and reagents in accordance with laboratory protocols.

Operate, calibrate, and maintain ICP‑OES instrumentation and related equipment.

Review, interpret, and document analytical data with high attention to accuracy and compliance.

Troubleshoot instrumentation issues and assist in method optimization when needed.

Adhere to all safety, environmental, and quality management procedures.

Collaborate with fellow laboratory personnel and communicate findings to technical staff.

Qualifications

Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related scientific field, or a minimum of two years of directly relevant professional experience.

Experience with ICP‑OES or other elemental analysis techniques strongly preferred.

Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIMS), analytical instrumentation, and good laboratory practices.

Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and data integrity.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced laboratory environment.

Willing to work in a temp‑to‑hire capacity; this role is a contract position for the first 3‑6 months.

Preferred Skills

Experience in petroleum additives, petrochemicals, or related industries.

Understanding of sample digestion techniques and quality control practices.

Basic troubleshooting and maintenance of analytical instrumentation.
