Job Summary
According to established policies and procedures, obtains blood and other specimens for laboratory testing according to physicians’ orders. Obtains needed supplies, verifies patient identification, prepares skin site and performs venipunctures according to established aseptic techniques. Labels specimens and transports them to Laboratory for analysis.
Job Specifications and Core Competencies
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Post high school education through accredited phlebotomy training program preferred.
Licensure: PBT (ASCP) certification or equivalent preferred.
Experience: Experience desirable but willing to train.
