Summary:
Join the team as an IR Tech at Aurora St Lukes Medical Center, a premier Level III Trauma Center and Magnet-designated facility in Milwaukee, WI. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment supporting a comprehensive stroke center, with a focus on advanced interventional radiology procedures utilizing GE and Siemens imaging equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Scrub and circulate a variety of IR procedures including basic, intermediate, and advanced cases.
Handle imaging equipment from GE and Siemens; experience with these brands is preferred.
Support procedures such as kyphoplasty, vertebroplasty, central lines, PICCs, fistulograms, IVC filters, nephrostomy tubes, coil embolization, and thoracentesis.
Assist with neuro IR cases including stroke interventions and embolizations, with day‑to‑day patient volume averaging 40-50 patients.
Maintain accurate monitoring, charting, and sedation administration (if applicable) for appropriate cases.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including tech leads, receptionists, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, CNAs, and transporters.
What You Bring:
Proven experience scrubbing and circulating IR procedures, including handling advanced cases with GE and Siemens equipment.
Strong knowledge of patient monitoring, procedural support, and imaging protocols.
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast‑paced, 24/7 department.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Flexibility to work on call shifts, with response times within 30 minutes.
Willingness to orient with a preceptor for 1‑2 weeks to ensure proficiency.
Preferred Education & Experience:
Prior experience in interventional radiology, preferably in a hospital setting supporting neuro and general IR cases.
Experience in neuro IR procedures such as stroke interventions and spinal angios.
Familiarity with EMR systems (EPIC preferred for RNs).
Comfort with using equipment like IVUS, ultrasound (GE), laser, Bovie, and AngioJet (experience not required but a plus).
Ability to adapt to different shift configurations, with openness to schedule modifications (four 10‑hour shifts or a combination of shifts).
Additional Support & Equipment:
Support staff includes receptionists, tech leads, tech specialists, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, CNAs, and transporters available 24/7.
Equipment includes Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis medication dispensing, PACS (Change Healthcare), and injector systems (MedRad).
Parking is available in a free structure with badge access.
Scrub color provided.
Shift & Scheduling Details:
10-hour day shifts, with the possibility of schedule adjustments.
On‑call rotation: weekday and weekend shifts, with response times of 30 minutes.
No holidays currently scheduled; holiday call may be required in the future.
Up to 7 days of RTO approval.
