Job Details
PEDIATRIC Respiratory Therapist position working with NICU Level III or Level IV, PICU Level I
Temp to perm opportunity
Administer competent patient care through airway management, mechanical ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and aerosol therapy
Provide respiratory care procedures and treatments to assess, prevent, stabilize or remedy patients respiratory dysfunction
Perform standard respiratory care including aerosol medication delivery, basic bedside pulmonary function testing, breathing exercises, and arterial punctures
Manage all aspects of airway management including aspiration, tracheostomy care, tube changes, and intubations/extubations
May work with Carolina Air Care transporting pediatric and neonatal patients from referral hospitals
Perform advanced practice procedures including UAC, UVC, IV insertion, chest tube insertion, needle decompression, ABGs, and blood glucose monitoring
May manage ECMO Extracorporeal circulation for cardiac and respiratory support
May be required to be on-call days, nights, weekends and holidays
Manage ventilator care including setup, verification, specialized modes, patient monitoring and weaning techniques
Function independently with minimal supervision and serve as resource to other staff
Two years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist required
Current RRT certification by NBRC required
Must have ACLS, NRP, PALS, CPFT, or advanced practice certificate for moderate sedation in Bronchoscopy Lab
Graduation from accredited Respiratory Therapy program required
