Hospital Overview:

Hartford Hospital is one of the largest and most respected teaching hospitals in New England. It is a Level 1 Trauma Center with a large robotic surgery center and the Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation (CESI), one of the world’s most advanced medical simulation training centers.

Position Description:

Hartford Healthcare Rehabilitation Network offers a 12‑month Speech‑Language Pathology (SLP) Clinical Fellowship. The intensive fellowship program is designed to help you apply didactic information to clinical practice with patients who have a wide range of disorders in the acute care setting. It includes a combination of clinical, didactic, and quality improvement experiences through rotations across all inpatient service lines. One‑to‑one clinical mentoring and opportunities for leadership skill development are provided.

The Speech‑Language Pathology Clinical Fellow will become independent in the evaluation and treatment of disorders of communication, cognition and swallowing to maximize a patient’s safety and independence. Emphasis is on innovative, evidence‑based care for the neurologically‑impaired and medically‑complex population, including specialized training in MBS and FEES procedures.

Reports to Department Supervisor.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited college/university

Eligibility for licensure in Connecticut

Meets requirements for a Supervised Professional Experience (SPE) plan through the Dept of Public Health and a Clinical Fellowship plan from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association

Previous clinical experience in an acute care setting and availability to start in June 2026 is strongly preferred
