POSITION OVERVIEW This Houseperson position is responsible for supporting Room Attendants by assisting with linen, trash removal, guest requests, and other housekeeping needs. This requires maintaining a high standard of sanitation and overall cleanliness throughout the hotel, ensuring all areas remain free of safety hazards. The individual in this position must perform all tasks in a safe, efficient, and organized manner while contributing to a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment for guests.

The hospitality industry operates seven (7) days per week, twenty‑four (24) hours per day. As such, regular and reliable attendance, in accordance with company standards, is essential for success in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.

Basic computer skills required; familiarity with Microsoft Office preferred.

Strong understanding of the English language with effective written and verbal communication skills.

Previous housekeeping experience preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Exert physical effort in lifting/transporting at least 25 pounds.

Push/pull carts and other equipment up to 100 pounds.

Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas.

Work environment - front office, and all areas of the hotel. The job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor and outdoor settings.

Must be able to stand and exert well‑paced mobility for lengthy periods of time.

Work environment - Guest Rooms, Guest and Service Corridors, Housekeeping Office. Job involves working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in indoor settings, and around fumes and/or odor hazards, dust and/or mite hazards, biohazards and chemicals.

Must be able to stand and exert well‑paced mobility for lengthy periods of time.

Must be able to reach above head and shoulder height to perform job duties.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Stock linen rooms with supplies and ensure carts are properly loaded.

Remove and dispose of dirty linen from housekeeping carts and laundry chutes.

Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness in front of elevators, including cleaning trash cans and elevator tracks.

Clean ice and soda machines on all floors; dust light fixtures in hallways.

Clean rugs, carpets, and upholstered furniture using vacuums, brooms, and carpet shampoo machines.

Wash walls and ceilings; move furniture and turn mattresses as needed.

Collect trash from all floors after Room Attendants complete their daily duties.

Deliver towels, cribs, cots, and other requested items to guest rooms promptly.

Turn in all lost and found items immediately to the supervisor.

Assist co‑workers and guests as needed to ensure smooth operations.

Notify the supervisor of any guest complaints, concerns, or comments.
